As I speculation upon last yesterday evening, the deal between the Braves and the DBacks went down, with the Braves acquiring Trevor Cahill. Even though Cahill was FAR from stellar last season, moving to more of a hitter’s park in Atlanta should increase his value in fantasy baseball leagues---even though I wouldn’t exactly be running to my waiver wire to scoop him up.

The REAL news here is that this allows the DBacks to slip Archie Bradley #11 MLB prospect) into the five hole of their starting rotation. Last year on three minor league levels, Bradley struggled with a 4.45 ERA, however in his defense he was battling some elbow issues. This spring, however, Bradley has looked like the real deal in DBack camp posting a 1.61 ERA over 22 1/3 innings. My recommendation---pick up Bradley NOW if it isn’t already too late. Guy’s studly.

Jesse Hahn was named the Oakland A’s #2 starter behind ace Sonny Gray. Last year with the Padres Hahn boasted a 3.07 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 70ks over 73 1/3 innings. Hahn has the ability to be a sleeper---take a flier on him if you have the spot.

Matt Harvey of the New York Mets completed a dazzling spring yesterday, with his final numbers being 1.19 ERA and 21K’s over 22 2/3 innings. Looks like Harvey may be past his post season Tommy John surgery, but I still am weary of drafting him high.
